Helping Staten Islanders

with MS and their families

for over 17 years.

The Staten Island Multiple Sclerosis Group (SIMSG) Inc., is a group of  men and women who have been diagnosed with MS or who are trying to get information that will lead to or diagnosis of a condition that might be MS. Family members and friends are also welcomed members of our group.

We meet on the 4th Thursday of the month, except for the months of May, November and December. We now meet at a new location(we no longer meet at the S.I. Hospital). Our meetings are now held on the campus of CSI in the Elizabeth Connelly Community Center at 930 Willowbrook  Road, Building 16C.

Our purpose is to give each other support and help in supplying information about MS symptoms and problems. We often have guest speakers, such as doctors, physical therapists, pharmacists, yoga instructors or anyone else who can aid us in our quest for information on how to best deal with MS.

Another purpose is to get people with MS out to events and activities in the community. We sponsor dinners, trips to Atlantic City, theater outings and other fun events in which part of the cost is paid by our group.

We also hope to be a force in informing our local politicians about the needs and rights of the handicapped population on Staten Island.

We are active in raising money for our group, and the Multiple Sclerosis Society through our annual MS Walk.

We also sponsor other fund raising activities for our own group. We give Good Will donations to other non-profit charities and organizations, as well as to other membersin need.

Our president is Peter DiMiceli, who can be contacted at PetesWheels or at (718) 983-1071.
